Situated only 10 kilometers north of the city boundaries, in the centre of the Podkarpackie region, Rzeszów Airport is recognized among pilots as the "airport of good weather". Meteorological statistics report exceptionally favorable climate conditions in this part of Poland. Of all public airports in Poland, Rzeszów can boast of the highest number of sunny days per year.
The airport was recognized with the award of Certificate of Aerodrome for Public Use by the Civil Aviation Office on 30 June 2006. Works on the modernization of Rzeszów -Jasionka Airport are still under way and construction of new Terminal 2 with the accompanying infrastructure has recently begun.
Rzeszów Airport, having an area of over 650 hectares at its disposal, with the legal ground status fully regulated, is ready to accommodate every aircraft type, inclusive of the largest, wide-fuselage planes like Boeing 747. The airport equipped with obstacle free approach zone, modern lightning- navigation aids system (including 1st category Instrument Landing System), a state of the art VAISALA equipment for meteorology can operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Regular domestic flights connect Rzeszow-Warsaw-Rzeszow and passengers fly with Polish Airlines "LOT", everyday connections with London are possible due to Ryanair. Since January, 24 2007 the Irish airlines has been flying from and to Dublin. Talks are in progress to introduce new connections in the schedule both domestic and foreign including flights to Ukraine.
