Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS (PSTP) was establish to serve as a tool for improvement of competitiveness of the Podkarpackie Voivodship economy, implementation of innovative technological solutions and management of knowledge and capital resources. The park should be a place where innovative ideas will be transferred into innovative technological solutions that will be implemented in business entities
In May 2003 an agreement was signed to establish Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS. The following parties signed an agreement to create the park: Podkarpackie Voivodship Self-Government, Rzeszów Town, Rzeszów Poviat, Rzeszów University of Technology and the University of Rzeszów. Local government decided to empower the Rzeszów Regional Development Agency Co. to be responsible for management of the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS.
