A science and technology park is a group of designated areas of real estate along with a technology infrastructure. These types of parks are created in cooperation with local government in order to provide preferential conditions for business activities. The main goals of industrial and technology parks are:

• offering the available space to existing companies using new technologies,
• attracting investors,
• creation of new jobs.

Each park has its own unique character stemming from its regional, cultural and economic conditions as well as the available growth potential. Individual characteristics of the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS are connected with its location in a region in which there are long standing traditions of aviation industry.

AEROPOLIS activities

Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS (PSTP) was establish to serve as a tool for improvement of competitiveness of economy, implementation of innovative technological solutions and management of knowledge and capital resources. The park is a place where innovative ideas are transferred into innovative technological solutions that are implemented in business entities. The park provides preferential conditions for business activities and attracts entrepreneurs to locate their companies here and as a consequence new work places are created.

The main goal of the park is to facilitate starting business activity by major investors as well as small and medium size enterprises and in particular ones that are innovative and launch technologically advanced products or services onto the market. The park aims at attracting new technologies and providing conditions for taking advantage of the potential of local institutions of higher education as well as research and development centres.

The main element of the offer of the park is fully developed investment sites and offices of the Academic Preincubator. The scheme of investment incentives is another element of the offer of the park, which attracts investors to locate in its area.

Academic Preincubator

Since January 2007 an Academic Preincubator conducts its activities in the Podkarpackie Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS, on the premises of Rzeszów University of Technology commenced its activity. The main goal of the Preincubator is support of persons who want to enter a market with their own ideas (students, graduates, university scientists) and facilitating their initial business activity by providing them with office space, machinery, apparatus etc. for conducting their research. They are also provided with counselling needed for establishing their own business activity.

Persons that conduct business activity in the Preincubator have the possibility of verification of their business idea and are assisted to conduct their business activity on the market. Leaving the Preincubator the persons are ready to enter the market.
